Who Wants To Get Out Of Bed?

Today Lyla woke up from her morning nap like she normally does....... by chatting away to herself. I went in to go get her, and she didn't want to get out of her crib. Usually she raises her arms for me to pick her up, but today she just lay there and cuddled with her blanket. So I left to switch loads of laundry, came back and she was still chatting away, cuddling with her blanket happily. So I went and did a few other things, checking in on her every few minutes. 30 minutes. That's how long she just hung out in her bed.
I just love that she wakes up so happy, and is such a content baby. I'm totally in love with this little girl!

It Finally Snowed!!

It's been cold lately, which makes the days long and yucky! And because we live in a small town, there isn't really anywhere we can go to get our energy out. Not really a big fan of small town life in the winter.

But I've always thought that, if it's gonna be cold, it should at least snow. And today it finally did. So we decided to venture out.

It only took her a second of uncertainty, and then she was off. She absolutely loved it. She loved crunching around in the snow, and just wanted to go everywhere.

After half an hour outside, I decided it was time to go back in. It was starting to get cold, and we had to go grocery shopping. But Lyla was not at all happy with having to go inside. When we got to the front door, she turned around and tried to push me back outside. It was really cute, even though she was crying.

9am Church

Last year we had church starting at 1pm. Most people would hate that time, but for us it was perfect.
Lyla still takes 2 naps a day. Sometimes she can go without her afternoon nap, but her morning nap is something she can't live without. 10am and she's asleep. So when we had church at 1pm, it was perfect. She usually wakes up at 7:30am, we have breakfast, play and then she naps. Daniel and I get ready for church. Lyla wakes up at noon, we have lunch and we are off to church.....well rested and a full belly.

But now we have church at 9am. By the time sacrament meeting is over, Lyla is getting a little nutty. And it just keeps going downhill from there. She can't sleep with so much going on because she's so excited by her surroundings. So I spend the next 2 hours doing everything I can to keep her happy and busy. It's really hard, and it makes me dread going to church.

I know it will get better, and it wont be like this forever...... but for right now, it's hard.

Loss and Blessings

Loss is always hard. Whether it's a dream you never got to see happen, or something you almost had at your very finger tips, or something you held so tightly but got taken away. Regardless of how it happens, it's still hard. And each person deals with loss in their own way.

Me..... I cry, I get angry even. Question what I did wrong to deserve it. And I try not to be sad, but sometimes it's hard. It's hard not to think about what could have been if you didn't loose what you lost.

But what helps me get through it, is to remember all that I have been blessed with. I have an amazing husband, and an awesome daughter. We all have our health, a roof over our heads, and a fridge full of food.
It doesn't take away the pain, but it helps.

We've Been Busy

I know I haven't blogged in a while. And since I know not many people read this, I know people aren't sad..... but I've missed it. I blog mostly for me anyway. I love doing it, and it's a way for me to journal my life a little.

Well, the reason why I haven't blogged, is because we have been busy working out. At the start of October, Daniel and I started an 8 week weight loss challenge. So every spare moment we had, we were at the gym or working out at home. I loved it.

Of course there was a big incentive.....$300.....which I ended up winning. I had the highest % weight loss out of the group. Yes, the money was great..... but it mostly helped us to jump start out weight loss plan for 2014. We both lost quite a bit of weight, but we still have a ways to go.

Daniel's only hope was that his family would notice at Christmas. Well, they didn't! And that's okay, but that's even more motivation to loose more and hope that the next time we see them they'll be speechless!
