Playing Outside

Sunday was such a gorgeous night, we spent some time outside playing. And since Lyla looked just so darn cute, I took a million pictures, then had a hard time choosing which to post. So, they may all look the same to you, but to me they are VERY different. But, I did edit them down to about half, so be grateful. ENJOY!!

Mom and Dad come to Memphis

Daniel's parents came to Memphis for Daniel's graduation. Yes...... he graduated in May, but I just found these pics on Daniel's phone, and so I wanted to post them.

Daniel and his parents took Lyla to Shelby Farms (best park ever) while I rested. I was getting over a cold and didn't feel so good that day.

Playing Snarf with the family. It's a Creviston thing.

We took them to a few different BBQ places in Memphis, so they could get the full experience. Here we are at Central BBQ. Seriously good food.

Then we took them on a cruise down the Mississippi river. It was a 2 hour cruise and it was really fun. Thankfully the weather cooperated.

For those of you who don't know, that's the South African flag behind me. Aaaaaand also for those who don't know...... that's where I'm from!

Lyla was completely tuckered out after a long day.

Everyone on there phones.

Loves Books

Lyla loves books. She loves to be read to, but also just loves looking at books. She will just sit looking at books and turning pages back and forth forever. She's really good at being gentle with books. I just love that she loves books.

Random Pics

These are just some pictures from the past few weeks.

Daniel bought Lyla some balloons for her 11 months, and she was terrified. Here she is crawling away from the balloons, which she was tangled in, so didn't make much progress.

Lyla 'helping' me go through her clothes. I was putting away all that was too small - always a sad moment.

On our way back from the water park. Lyla had a tough day, so we didn't stay long. She held onto her sunscreen for comfort.

Lyla with her cousin Kathryn

She loves playing with shoes. Her favorite are shoes with laces, but she will play with anything.

At Moses Lake Farmers Market. We love getting fresh produce as often as possible and supporting our local farmers.

Peek-a-Boo

Hanging out and Grandma and Grandpa's.

Brushing teeth. Lyla's first tooth came through (finally), and her second is almost through. Brushing teeth is fun!

Lyla holding the Birthday card she got from her Great-Grandma.
She is just growing so fast and learning so much these days, I can't keep up. But she is still our bundle of joy.

Fish

I have always hated seafood. The smell, the taste..... it just grosses me out. Daniel loves seafood though, and because of him I try. When we go out for dinner and he orders fish, I try it. I want so badly to like it for him, but I just can't. It makes me so sick.

Then something weird happened. After I had Lyla, I tried fish again, for Daniel, and I actually liked it. I totally freaked out, and Daniel couldn't believe it. I never thought that having a baby could change your taste buds, but it did for me.
We've been taking it slow, starting with the less fishy fish first, but I enjoy it. We now have new possibilities to our dinner menu, and I'm glad that Daniel is finally able to enjoy a food he loves so much.

11 Months

Some days I'm excited that my little girl is getting so big, and other days I want to cry that she is almost a year. But there really isn't a whole lot I can do about her growing up. That's just what happens. Incase you didn't know.

This past month Lyla has grown, developmentally, sooooo much.
-It started with being able to sit up from a tummy position
-Then we worked on rolling from back to belly (she HATES being on her belly, so she learned fast how to roll from belly to back, but had absolutely no reason to go from back to belly. But once she figured out how to sit from her belly, she worked it all out)
-She now crawls
-Climbs up on everything
-Can sit from a standing position (harder then it looks folks)
-Walks along all the furniture
-And has stood for a few seconds by herself a couple of times

I just don't know whats happening to my little bug anymore

*She loves to be upside-down, and will throw herself backwards without warning.
*She loves eating off our plates, and will try anything we give her. She loves all foods (so far).
*She laughs when she hears others laugh, and will sometimes laugh at herself
*My home has never been so clean. Mostly because Lyla will eye in on the tiniest spec and put it in her mouth. So I am constantly making sure there isn't a crumb or tiny thread on the floors.
*Loves drinking out of big cups, especially when it has a straw.
*STILL no teeth

She is still the best part of me, and I will forever be grateful to have her in our family.

Eating a cracker with no teeth is a challenge.
 Loves chomping on blueberries.
Her first stuffed animal, Henry the monkey.

Making a mess
Why buy a toy piano when we have a real one?
She loves drinking out of straws.
She recently started sleeping on her side. So peaceful!
 Out for a walk
Lap 3 around the coffee table
 Ready for church
 Check out my fort mom!!
She loves reading books, but this one is her favorite. I made it with pictures of her daddy.
She loves being in the water
My little bug getting so big
I never thought it would be possible, but I think she might make it her whole first year in the same outfit.
