Lyla Turns 2

It's hard to think that 2 years have already passed since we were blessed by this amazing and sweet little girl. She has blessed our lives so much and has brought us more joy then we thought possible. We are so grateful to be her parents, and to have her apart of our family.

We decided to take Lyla to the Aquatic Center for her birthday. Actually we went on the day before, Saturday. She loves going there, and loves being in the water. I still don't think she's old enough to appreciate a big birthday, so we just kept it simple.

We always start in the lazy river, so we can slowly get used to the water.

Then we head over to the splash pad....... which I think is her favorite part. She usually spends the most time here.

Then we finish off at the slides and pool.

Sunday was her actual birthday, so I bought her a cute skirt to wear to church as part of her birthday outfit. I feel like she looks so grown up here.

After church and nap time, Daniel parents came over for presents and birthday cupcakes.
From Daniel's parents, Lyla got some ladybug stickers (she loves ladybugs), alphabet flash cards, a sticker book, and a cute outfit.

From us, Lyla got her very first baby doll, and a doll stroller. She seems to really love them.

And. . . . . . cake time! I made chocolate cupcakes, with blueberry butter cream frosting. They were pretty good!

As soon as I put the cupcake down she wanted to dig in, and was a little weirded out that I told her she had to wait. She didn't understand what was going on, and was thrilled once she could finally dig in.

Just a little size comparison. What happened to my baby??

It was a really fun weekend. It was so fun celebrating my sweet girls 2nd birthday.

.......................................................................................................

On the Thursday before Lyla's birthday, Daniel's awesome co-workers threw Lyla a mini birthday when I went to go and pick him up. They had a mini cake, and they bought her these sunglasses, and a really cute outfit. These guys are awesome, and I love that they love her so much.

Random Fun

She loves to color, and spends most of her day doing it.

Playing in Grandma's backyard

Kissing the duck.

She came and sat in the kitchen while I made dinner.

Hanging with Grandma.

Mama cuddles.

Hanging outside in her pj's. Not something mama would have allowed.

Hiding under the blankets.

Daddy let her sit on the counter, and she was really excited.

She loves smelling flowers.

Grant County Fair

Daniel went with his dad to watch the demolition derby at the fair. He had a blast, but I kept Lyla home. I figured it would be waaay too loud for her.

The following day we took Lyla to see the animals. She seemed to enjoy it, but I hate that everything costs so much at the fair. I think it was fun for her to see the animals in real life, and not just pictures of them, like she's mostly done.

Lyla hated the pigs. They were so noisy, that she just wanted to get out of there really fast.
