Memorial Day

I love holidays where Daniel gets off work. Sometimes I feel like we just don't get enough of him.
We spent the morning at the park, and enjoyed a picnic lunch. It was the twins first real day at the park. Lyla had so much fun. She's not very daring, and gets scared easily. But Daniel showed her how to climb on some of the big toys, and she did so good. At first she wasn't so sure and didn't want to try, but after a little help and encouragement,  she made it and was so proud of herself.
Lyla is also really shy, and doesn't talk to people she doesn't know. Actually she won't even talk to people she does know. So I was totally blown away when she walked up to a girl her age whom she didn't know and asked if she wanted to play. That is so not my girl.

The twins enjoyed looking at their new surroundings as we chilled under a tree. I think they enjoyed watching the sun dance through the leaves and branches. It was just nice to be out with the family.

Later that night we went over to Daniel's parents for dinner. His Aunt and Uncle were visiting,  and they blessed us by taking some amazing family pictures. It was mostly spur of the moment, so I couldn't plan outfits, but I think they turned out really good reguardless.

3 Months

Their little personalities are starting to come out more. Caleb is pretty chill for the most part. Kaitlyn likes a little more attention. Sometimes I struggle with balancing my time with all 3 kids. I spend a lot of time going between babies with feedings and keeping them happy, and then it's clear that Lyla is starved for attention. So I give it to her every chance I get, but that also becomes hard because I also have a house to care for. Most days are good, some are not. But I just try to make quality time since I can't give quantity.

These babies are growing so fast. They are already in size 2 diapers and wearing 3-6 month clothes. I feel like I'm constantly switching out clothes for them.

So here's the thing with shopping with twins. I get a lot of stares, which doesn't bother me, because I am super women. But I get asked the craziest questions. When did it become okay to pry into someones personal life? These are some questions/comments I get from total strangers.

- Are they twins?
-Are they identical? (after already establishing they are boy and girl. FYI, boys and girls have different part, so therefore can't be identical)
-Did you want twins?
-Are you happy you had twins?
-Were you trying for twins? (don't know how you do that)
-Are they natural twins? (are you seriously asking me how I concieved my babies?)
-Did you have a csection? (umm... you want to know how I birthed my babies)
-Are they both yours?
-How do you tell them apart?
-A boy and a girl, now you can be done having kids.
-My kids are 13 months apart, so it was kind of like having twins. (sure)

I LOVE BEING A MOM TO THESE 3 MUNCHKINS!!

This is how I shop. Every time, without fail, someone will comment "looks like you have your hands full." Well, yes I do.

Lyla attended her first baptism. It was a really neat experience for her, and opened a lot of discussion about baptism.

2 Months

Smiles and giggles is what we've been blessed with lately. Seeing their faces light up at the sight of you just melts my heart.

We've started to get back to normal again. If there's such a thing. Lyla is back at preschool, and I'm back to errends, shopping, laundry and everything else that comes with being a mom. I've had to learn how to shop with 3 kids. Having 2 in carseats makes it a little challenging, but I'm pretty sure I've perfected it. Push the twins stroller with one hand, and pull the cart with Lyla behind me with the other.

Kaitlyn and Caleb are finally starting to sleep longer throughout the night. We are up to 5 hours now, which is fantastic. Hopefully this lasts, and continues to get longer.
Lyla still loves her siblings, and is still such a help. I'll often find her singing to the babies and trying to comfort them in her own way. She's so gentle and loving with them. I'm still in awe at my amazing family!
