Well this month has sure been an adventure. Be bought our very first house after 11 years of marriage. More on that later, but needless to say we absolutely love it.
But the biggest thing this month, the twins are out of our room. If you remember from last month, Caleb and Kaitlyn were having a terrible time sleeping at night. Especially Kaitlyn. She would just scream and fuss all night. Daniel and I were exhausted, and decided to come up with a plan. Now that we were in our new house, and had the extra room, we put Kaitlyn and Caleb in their own cribs and out of our room. We also decided to stop swaddling them since Kaitlyn was starting to fight against it. It made a world of difference. The first night was rough, because we put them down asleep instead of me nursing them to sleep, and they weren't too happy about that. But they didn't cry for very long. By the second night, it was a million times better then every night for the past 6 weeks. We were so happy, and I think the twins are actually happier too since they are sleeping better. So now we have our room back. It's nice and weird at the same time. They still wake up twice to feed, but they go straight back to sleep with no fuss.
Another big thing is that Lyla has dropped her nap. I'm pretty bummed about it because it was my only me time I got. So now she just has quiet time in her room everyday which is a blessing. And when I can time her quiet time with the twins nap. . . . . heaven !!
Kaitlyn and Caleb are both rolling over from belly to back, and love grabbing onto anything they can reach. Kaitlyn is able to sit for several seconds before topping over. They both have the best laughs, and have very ticklish necks. I'm greatful everyday that they have joined our family. They bring more joy then I thought possible.
Lyla discovered watercolor painting. So much fun.
Our 4th of July. The great thing about our house, is it's up on a hill, so we can see the town from our backyard. Which is exactly where we sat to watch the fireworks. Lyla got to see fireworks for the very first time this year. She went to bed at her normal time, but then at 10pm we woke her up and took her outside. At first she was really sleepy and didn't want to wake up. But when she saw the fireworks, she was in total awe. "This is beautiful". "I love this so much". "This is the best night ever". She had such a blast and talked about it for days after.
We tied balloons to the babies feet, so when the kicked the balloons would dance around. They loved it.
Fun at the waterpark.
This is about 2:30am. This little stinker refused to sleep, and so here she is in time-out.
The last time the twins slept in their twin bassinet.
Best friends
In their own room, in their own beds. . . . asleep
